(for vSphere 5.5 and 6.x) and installation of the client plugin<\/p>\n<p>First uninstall web client integration plugin if you already installed it. After that, do your IE settings first before installing the plugin again.<br \/>\nSo open IE and go to settings and click on manage add-ons.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vdssystems.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IE11-add-ons.jpg\"><img class=\"size-full wp-image-1108 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vdssystems.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IE11-add-ons.jpg\" alt=\"IE11-add-ons\" width=\"276\" height=\"356\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Look for &#8220;Shockwave Flash Object&#8221; and select it. If the status says \u00a0&#8216;disabled&#8217; then click on the enable button in the button right corner.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vdssystems.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IE11-enable-flash.jpg\"><img class=\"size-full wp-image-1109 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vdssystems.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IE11-enable-flash.jpg\" alt=\"IE11-enable-flash\" width=\"997\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Make sure ActiveX filtering isnt selected. if so deselect it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vdssystems.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IE11-ActiveX-filtering.jpg\"><img class=\"size-full wp-image-1110 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vdssystems.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IE11-ActiveX-filtering.jpg\" alt=\"IE11-ActiveX filtering\" width=\"601\" height=\"347\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now add your FQDN URL to your &#8220;Local intranet&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Go to internet options and click on the security tab. Select &#8220;Local intranet&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vdssystems.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IE11-options-local-intranet.jpg\"><img class=\"size-full wp-image-1111 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vdssystems.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IE11-options-local-intranet.jpg\" alt=\"IE11-options local intranet\" width=\"417\" height=\"540\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Click on sites and then click on advanced. add your FQDN Url from your vcenter server\/appliance. Close internet options.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vdssystems.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IE11-options-local-intranet-add-FQDN-vCenter.jpg\"><img class=\"size-full wp-image-1112 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vdssystems.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IE11-options-local-intranet-add-FQDN-vCenter.jpg\" alt=\"IE11-options local intranet add FQDN vCenter\" width=\"819\" height=\"383\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>go back to your vCenter web client (https:\/\/myfqdnvcenter:9443\/vsphere-client and download the web client integration plugin. (save it don&#8217;t run it!). close IE for now.<\/li>\n<li>Run the setup as administrator (Right click on the executable and choose run as administrator).<\/li>\n<li>Open IE again and navigate to your vCenter webclient. the plugin should now work<\/li>\n<li>Allow any pop-up you get from vCenter to allow console view, import ovf, etc&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now never forget it again!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When installing a new vSphere environment i always forget the IE settings to make the web client plugin work So here is a short overview for the correct settings in IE11.
