if your looking for a low disk alert then here is how you set it up

To configure vRealize Operations Manager 6.x to generate low disk space alerts for virtual machines, new Symptom and Alert Definitions must be created.

Creating new Symptom Definitions

To create new Symptom Definitions perform these steps:

  1.  Log in to vRealize Operations Manager as a user with administrative privileges.
  2. Click on Content and then on Symptom Definitions.
  3. In the Filter box, type Guest partition and press Enter. A Symptom Definition named Guest partition disk space usage should be displayed.
  4. Select the Guest partition disk space usage Symptom Definition and then click the Clone button.
  5. Give the new Symptom Definition a meaningful name. For example Guest partition disk space usage reaching Warning limit.
  6. Change Info to Warning and 0 to a desired disk space usage percentage value for which a Warning level alert would be generated.
  7. Click the Save button.
    • Repeat steps 4 through 7 two more times to create Immediate and Critical level Symptom Definitions. Ensure to set the name, criticality and metric values appropriately.

Creating a new Alert Definition

To create a new Alert Definition perform these steps:

  1. Log in to vRealize Operations Manager as a user with administrative privileges.
  2. Click on Content and then on Alert Definitions.
  3. In the Filter box, type guest file system and press Enter. An Alert Definition named One or more guest file systems is out of disk space should be displayed.
  4. Select the One or more guest file systems is out of disk space Alert Definition and click the Clone button.
  5. Give the new Alert Definition a meaningful name, for example One or more guest file systems is filling up.
  6. Update the Description to reflect the nature of the new Alert Definition.
  7. Click the Delete button next to the existing Symptom, One or more guest file systems out of space.
  8. Click Add Symptom Definitions on the left.
  9. In the filter box, type the name of the new warning level Symptom Definition and press Enter.
  10. Drag the displayed Symptom Definition in to the Drag a Symptom Definition here for this Alert Definition area on the right.
  11. Repeat steps 9 and 10 for the Immediate and Critical level Symptom Definitions.
  12. Change All to Any next to Base object exhibits.
  13. Click the Save button.
